Chipotle Opens Its First Hernando County Location on South Broad Street

Chipotle Mexican Grill opened its doors in Brooksville for the first time on Wednesday, Sept. 16, welcoming its first customers at 10:30 a.m. at 1185 S. Broad Street. The opening marks the chain's arrival in Hernando County and adds a new option to the busy South Broad Street corridor, which has become one of the fastest-changing retail stretches in the city.

The location runs with a drive-thru lane, a feature not every Chipotle offers, and will keep daily hours from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to details published for the opening. City of Brooksville notices confirmed that two or more City Council members planned to attend the grand opening, a routine disclosure the city issues whenever elected officials show up at community events.

For Hernando County residents, the appeal is simple: a familiar national chain now sits inside the county line instead of requiring a drive to Spring Hill's outer edges or into Pasco County. South Broad Street already carries a mix of fast food, retail and service businesses, and the new Chipotle slots into that lineup a short drive from downtown Brooksville's courthouse square.

Part of a busier fall for new business

The Chipotle opening did not happen in isolation. It follows a string of new arrivals across Hernando County this fall, including an Aldi grocery store on Mariner Boulevard and a Duck Donuts location on Cortez Boulevard. Together, the openings point to steady commercial growth along the county's main retail corridors, even as longtime local restaurants and shops continue to operate nearby.

Brooksville's newsflash listing that confirmed the Chipotle event also laid out a packed few months of city happenings, from Friday Night Live evenings in Hernando Park to the Downtown Street Market and October's Founders' Day events. The Chipotle ribbon cutting was one entry on a calendar that also includes an Olive Tree grand opening on East Liberty Street in October and a ribbon cutting for Patriot Pole Barns on North Broad Street.

The city has not announced further events tied specifically to the Chipotle location beyond the opening day.
